Crockford's Prophecy - Website of Gordon Thomas Drury
May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
Skipping by their fleecy dams.
Thought for the week:
Don't ever get to the point in life when you say ‘I wish I would have’.

Welcome, I am in the long process of placing all my notes, writings and ramblings onto the internet for the world to see. I have two large book cases filled with those writings and that is before I even think of those that have been left for my caretaking over the period of this life time by people who have now passed over.
A list of my existing publications and the services I supply will all be listed under the appropriate headings and I shall leave a list daily on this page on those that I have updated, changed or generally reordered so that you will know where to find it. You can also find me at www.gordondrury.com and my literary agents are Watson Little where James Wills deals with my writings.(www.watsonlittle.com) You can also hear me broadcasting on a fairly regular basis on www.kwizradio.com and www.wiccaradio.com
If you would like to contribute in some small measure towards the upkeep of this website I welcome any contributions at the Donations page.
About this site.
You will see down the left hand side of the page a list of other aspects of this site. Here is a short synopsis on some of the other pages you can find here.
Currently I am not updating the blog. I simply do not have enough time. I will from time to time make an occasional entry. Where I have updated you will see that it follows no particular pattern but is mostly concerned with my life, family, animals (especially that bloody dog!), photographs, music and my thoughts. I welcome all input from you.
I've read tarot for many years, learned a lot, lectured in it, taught it, broadcast on it, written about it, researched it and generally tried to find the root of the myth and magic about it. It may take some time but I hope to eventually write the definitive work. This is where it will start. There are some basics there and I will update as and when.
One More (Last?) Adventure
A work in progress. If you are interested - have a look! You can find more details on Twitter @1moreadventure.
The original idea of this page was to fund this operation by receiving gifts of old, unwanted CDs and books, hopefully of a spiritual nature that could be sold on. The remuneration from these sales would go into the 'pot' to help keep everything rolling along. As with all great ideas at times, things became superceded. The eventual aim is to build a library, ready for a spiritual centre, which I will have an ambition to build after the 'Last Adventure'. Please, please, please! If you have any books or CDs that relate to spiritual matters, and if you have any you will know exactly what I mean then please get them to me. Call, email, text, write and I will do my best to retrieve them from you. The one you have that you think doesn't matter is really the one I want. Where there is an excess of any individual title, the intention is to sell and use the funds to buy further books.
I had intended during 2012 to write a 'living' manual of good husbandry for anyone who wanted to attempt a self-sufficient lifestyle. Pressure from other directions, publishers and broadcasting mainly, did not make this a feasible option. At the moment not a lot is happening. If anyone wants to take on the mantle and progress it I would be delighted either as their own project or a joint project with me. Some experience, an understanding and a cheap digital camera would be requisite but I would be real happy to discuss any possibilities.
I have three manuscripts currently unpublished. I am discussing deals with various parties at the moment but just to give a flavour of the sort of writing I can do I place various segments on this page. Comments, as usual, good or bad or critical, are welcome.
Things I will Teach My Grandchildren
Not that I have any yet, grandchildren that is, but over the years I have collected various snippets of wisdom from many sources, that I thought might be of some help to them should such progeny eventually come along. I hope that such collected wisdoms would also be useful to other 'oldies' for reflection and consideration. Some years ago I published a few volumes of them. I still collect. This is an expanding work, only a few of which are shown here. I add and change them fairly regularly. If you have any that you think are pertinent please forward them to me.
Here is the long promised start to the manual for those of you with Wicca interests. It is nowhere near complete but unless one starts it is never going to be. This is my attempt at placing together all the bits and pieces that I have collected and collated over the years. Eli Crockford started all this for me and I shall write much more about him before the work is finished. If anyone has anything to add, can suggest improvements or has constructive criticism then I would be delighted to hear from you. If there are any copyright issues please let me know before we all employ solicitors and go to war - a lot of the lists are from notes that I copied from books and other publications over the years and although I have added, changed and edited most chapters there may be some references that are not totally fresh. Following the Wicca pledge I give this information for free. I hope you will do the same. Lots more to come over the coming months.
Just at the bottom of this page you can find this month's good advice 'poster'. On this occasion it is 'My Prayer'. If you want to copy it and print it out, please do. If you have problems copying or downloading let me know and I will send you the A4 file so that you can print it out and stick it on your wall! Previous month's 'good advice' continue below this month's.
Generally speaking, if you find script that is in a different colour and you 'left' click on it, it will take you to more about that subject, play a piece of music, play a media clip or take you to another website.
If you feel able to help in anyway, either practically, by comment or instruction then please advise. I will respond where appropriate.
This month's 'fridge poster'
If you want the original layout for this or any other poster on the site please Email me and I'll send you the file which is in Word for Windows.
So Far today, I’ve done all right,
I haven’t gossiped.
I haven’t lost my temper.
I haven’t yelled at the children or the dog.
I haven’t smoked or had a vodka.
I haven’t been greedy, grumpy,
nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I’m very thankful for all of that.
But…. In a few minutes God,
I’m going to get out of bed;
And from then on, I’m probably going to need a lot of help.
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Don’t Give Up
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace be slow.
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the cloud of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you are hardest hit.
Its when things seem worst: You must not quit!
No moving parts, no batteries.
No monthly payments and no fees.
Inflation proof, non taxable,
In fact it is quite reliable.
It can’t be stolen, won’t pollute,
One size fits all, do not dilute.
It uses little energy,
But yields results enormously.
Relieves your tension and your stress,
Invigorates your happiness.
Combats depression, makes you beam,
And elevates your self esteem.
Your circulation it corrects,
Without complicated side effects.
It is I think, the perfect drug.
May I prescribe, my friend……..
